About the performance

The audiences are invited to dine with Dagmara Bilon who during the finely prepared meal will occasionally wear a Placenta on her head and examine 'outrageous behavior' in the context of contemporary society.  A feast of fragmented testimonies by a devouring mother, juxtaposing an opera lip sink and visual images during an immersive witch trail. The performance aims to move beyond the confines of sentiment and touch on the themes of community, home and identity in the current geo-political climate. Which witch is the witch? And what is seriously outrageous?

About artist

Dagmara Bilon is an interdisciplinary artist based in London. Over a decade she has created a diverse body of work, which belong to the borderline realms of experimental theatre performance, with particular focus on sight specific, durational and immersive work.

Her practice orbits around the mystical experience of being human, re-defining contemporary myths and symbols, the art of queer forms, bearded saints, chimeras, beans, floppy breast and non-verbal storytelling.

She is co-founding member of The Purple Ladies and associate artist of The Desperate Art wives. She is delighted to be showing some of her recent experiments at The Genderhouse Festival.
